Editorial policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

1. General provisions

1.1. The journal Argos recognizes the progress and usefulness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic processes; however, it establishes that the authorship of manuscripts corresponds exclusively to human beings.

1.2. Under no circumstances will AI be considered a co-author, nor may it appear in the authorship credits.

1.3. The use of AI shall be limited to technical and editorial support functions, without replacing the critical capacity, analysis, or academic interpretation of the authors.

2. Mandatory declaration

2.1. Authors who use AI tools during the preparation of a manuscript must explicitly declare this at the time of submission.

2.2. This declaration must be attached in a PDF document, indicating:

  • The purpose of the use of AI (e.g., style correction, translation, data analysis, preliminary drafting).
  • The tool used (name and version).
  • The scope of use (which stages of the work were supported by AI).
  • The sole responsibility of the authors for the originality, validity, and accuracy of the content.

3. Declaration template

Authors must include text similar to the following:

“The authors declare that during the preparation of this manuscript, the artificial intelligence tool [name and version] was used for the purpose of [describe purpose]. All ideas, interpretations, results, and conclusions are the sole responsibility of the authors, who guarantee the originality and academic validity of the content.”

4. Ethical responsibility

4.1. Authors must ensure that the use of AI has not involved:

  • Plagiarism or misappropriation of content.
  • Generation of false or manipulated data.
  • Disclosure of sensitive or confidential information.
  • Reproduction of discriminatory biases.

5. Non-compliance

5.1. Failure to declare the use of AI will be considered a serious breach of the editorial standards of the journal.

5.2. Consequently, it may result in the return of the manuscript, its definitive rejection, or the retraction of an already published article.
