The description of the monstrous births in two event reports.

There is a literary genre that emerged from the 15th century called "relations of events", these had as their primary purpose to inform on festive, historical or religious topics. These texts also used to relate the births of different people with bodily deformities. In this context, I propose to analyze two testimonies that refer to births that are referred to as "monstrous" in a derogatory way. The objective is to notice how these newborn creatures represented a marginalized group, both in reality and in their literary manifestation. Based on this, I analyze two reports, one anonymous and the other from an informant named Salvador de Padilla. One of the main objectives is to verify the moral and religious symbolism represented by such events. Similarly, I intend to relate such interpretations from a critical-historical context- including issues such as the political authority of that time, or the surgical limitations of obstetrics that made labor difficult at that time.
