Abstract

Some of the features that made La Oveja negra y demás fábulas (1969) contribute to liberating a genre confined in the prison of its traditional guidelines are addressed, and how Monterroso undermined religion, power, culture, overturned a corrosive humor that leaves the naked a presumed, pusillanimous, hypocritical, careerist, clumsy human being.
