Abstract

This essay deals with the theme of the “indigenous person” character represented in Mexican Literature and Literature in Indigenous Languages. This paper contains three sections: the first exposes the origin of the meaning given to the concept of “Indian” in European and New Spain narrative; the second, it reflects on the character in Mexican Literature and, finally, it shows how the “Indian” is blurred to present the expression of himself from Indigenous Literature.
