Cultural mediation in environments with complex identities. Approaches to the work of Islam and Western culture.
Keywords:
Islam, the West, literature, identity, dialogueAbstract
Literature can serve as a tool for cultural mediation where conflict seems to collapse identities and societies, especially in relations between apparently opposing civilizations such as Islam and Western culture. The defense of cultural identity, the creation of stereotypes and the exacerbation of prejudices are integral elements of the revised work and it seeks to pose as a point of rapprochement in the midst of a convulsive and complex context in the international social reality.
