In the stories of “The Tree” by Inés Arredondo and “Death in the Forest” by Amparo Dávila, the symbol of the tree is located at the center of their thematic reflections. The stories reveal important differences in the use of symbols due to the aesthetic proposal that each one assumes, as two different ways of connecting with the original meanings that define the symbol, evidenced through the discursive level, nourished by the intentionality that is given to it. to the stories told by these two great exponents of the Mexican story.
