Abstract

This article examines the social female representation in the song "Bichota" by Colombian singer Karol G, aiming to identify discursive resources associating the term "bichota" with an empowerment stereotype. In methods, Moscovici's theory on social representations and Van Leeuwen's perspective on social actors are employed. Based on these theoretical frameworks, four key points are addressed regarding the construction of imaginaries: the agentive role of actors, the physical construction and stereotypes of agents, and the use of speech acts. Within the framework of critical discourse analysis, this work analyzes the construction of "bichota" as a tool of social representation that, despite challenging established norms, may perpetuate certain gender stereotypes.
